My granddaughters and I really enjoyed Poco’s story. It had such gorgeous pictures as expected, but so much more. The story cleverly told the children about habitat loss, kindness and the message that we can reverse that loss. The rhythm of the story appealed and the drama of Poco’s adventures kept the girls interested to the end. We loved the information at the back of the book too.
What a wonderfully happy ending to a very special species…
As well as a lovely story the message behind it is clear and keeps interest high even after children may have out grown the story. The illustrations are just beautiful. It began well with a leap straight into the characters and story. This book needs to be read out loud as the rhythm of the lines is also a delight. Although geared at a younger age my 7 and 9 year old grand daughters really enjoyed it too.

The book is a delight. Not only colourful and interesting but a story to learn from too. I'm sure children of many different ages would enjoy both listening to the story with such colourful illustrations and reading the story themselves.
This is an endearing tale of a golden lion tamarin monkey being released back into the rainforest after time spent in a zoo. The brightly coloured illustrations leap off the page and draw the audience in as Poco and zookeeper Amelie meet various creatures before he is reunited with his family. Conservation messages are gently introduced, making it not only a fun and cute adventure but one that develops children’s awareness of these important issues in an engaging way. A charming rhyming book.
i love children's books that both entertain and educate but without the child realising they are "learning".This book does both, entertaining in it's text and illustrations but educational about the beauty of animal conservation and how wonderful it is to be able to return animals to the wild. I think both adults and children will love it.

My 4 year old grandson enjoyed the story and especially the ending. Good conversation ensued about why Poco was in a zoo and why he should go home!. Beautiful illustrations.

This was a beautifully illustrated book. My grandsons loved the idea that Poco went back to their family. I want my boys to grow up wanting to look after the world they live in and this was a lovely message. I hope there will be further books as Amelie returns other animals to their homeland.
I read this book with my 5 year old grandson - he particularly liked the illustration at the start with the animals asleep at the zoo. As the story moved on he understood about Poco’s journey and enjoyed meeting the animals along the way. A lovely way to start to learn about an important subject
